Service and repairs

Our repair shop is run by owner and luthier Paul Strelau, who has over 35 years of professionally playing, building and repairing stringed instruments. While he specializes in all things bass, he has extensive experience working on all violin family instruments. His staff includes players and instrument technicians who are dedicated to performing affordable, high quality repairs.

Because we are passionate about making good quality instruments available to everyone, we focus on repairing instruments for grade schools, college students, school districts and local musicians in a highly affordable way. We do not specialize in the evaluation or restoration of high value instruments.

You are welcome to bring your instrument in at any time. Evaluation and estimate for repair is given on the spot before any work is done.

He provides a satisfaction guarantee on all of his work.

Specialty Installations

Wittner Fine Tune pegs: These pegs offer quick, easy and precise tuning for Violins, Violas and Cellos. Great for anyone who has difficulty operating regular pegs, these pegs will not slip or stick when the humidity changes and there is no need to loosen/tighten; simply turn the head to tune.
Other specialty installations include Wittner chin rest for violin and viola (centered or side-mount), StringVision Posture Pegs for cello, Stahlhammer Carbon Fiber cello endpin, and bass pick-up installations (see Accessories page for list of available pick-ups).
